Settings

The Settings tab contains global settings that apply on a server level. It contains the following sub menus.

License

The License menu shows the license information for the server and also allows you to upload additional licenses.

Maximum allowed users
The number shows the maximum number of users that the server is licensed for. You can add licenses by uploading a new license file to the server.

Current number of licenses in use
This is the number of licenses currently used on the server.

Upload new license file
You can upload a license file to increase the number of licenses on your server. Browse to the folder where you have your license file and select it. Then click on Upload to load it.

Localization

You can localize your server with the following settings. These settings set the defaults for the server, but localization settings can also made on an application and user level.

Default Site Language
Select the default site language from the language files installed on your server. You can add new languages and edit existing ones by updating the language files.

Default Site Measurement
Select the default measurement settings from the measurement files installed on your server. You can add new measurements and edit existing ones by updating the measurement files.

Timezone
Select the default time zone for your server. The time zone setting is used to show time related information such as incoming position updates and alerts in local time. This setting is important as most tracking devices and the GPS system uses the UTC time zone by default.

Note: You can set different time zones for different applications on one server. This is important for multi-country installations.

Geocoding language
Select the default geocoding language for your server. This decides in what language address information is shown.

Note: The result can vary as it is dependent on the geocoding provider selected.

Geocoding address format
Select the default geocoding address format for your server. Select the variables that you want to include in an address. The default variable ADDRESS works well in most countries.

Scripts

Compression
You can select to compress the scripts used in the applciation. This will reduce the loadtime and network traffic for some pages.

Admin User

This is where you change the password for the Site Admin user.

Old password
Enter the old password for authorization.

New password
Enter the new Site Admin password.

Retype password
Re-type the new password for confirmation.

Email

Sender E-mail Address
This address will be the sender in all outgoing emails.

SMTP Server Hostname
eg: mail.domain.com

SMTP Server Port
Normaly 25 or 465 if using SSL

SMTP Username
Username to for SMTP server authentication. If left blank sender address is used.

SMTP Server Password
password to the SMTP server.

Use SSL
Check the box to use SSL encryption.

SMS

Proxy user login
The SMS Proxy will use this username when connecting to the local Tracking Server to send and receive messages.

Proxy user password
The SMS Proxy will use this password when connecting to the local Tracking Server to send and receive messages.

Retype password
Re-type the SMS Proxy password for confirmation.

Proxy phone number
The phone number of the sms proxy. This is the number with which a tracking device will communicate over SMS and from which a user will receive SMS alerts. Sample format: +46701112233 (Note: Do not send to this phone number)

Server Hostname
The server hostname which devices will connect to when communicating with Tracking Server over GPRS. This is normally the hostname of the local Tracking Server installation.

Enable SMS Proxy
Check this box if the created SMS proxy user should be activated for the server installation.

Phone number
The SMS will be sent to this phone number. Do not use a number that is already registered to a user in VehicleTracker. Sample format: +46701112233 (Note: Do not send to this phone number)

Test SMS text
The text This is a test SMS will be sent when you send a test SMS
