Service
The Service tab contains global settings that apply on a server level. It contains the following sub menus.
Start / Stop
The Start / Stop menu shows the current state of the Franson NMEA Service.
Status
The status of the Franson NMEA Service should always be Running... on a production system.
Action
You can stop and start the service manually if required.
Click the Stop button to stop the Franson NMEA Service.
Click the Start button to start the Franson NMEA Service.
Note: The Franson NMEA Service should be running. In rare cases, such as some server update scenarios, a controlled service restart might be part of the process.
Message providers
The Providers menu lets you manage the Message Providers on your server. Message Providers are used to connect your server to external systems. The table shows the list of providers installed on the server.
You can select the following provider types from the drop-down menu:
- GpsGateCellProvider
- HttpMessageProvider
- SmtpPopEmailMessageProvider
- OrbCommMessageProvider
- ClientMessageProvider
- ProxyMessageProvider
The provider table has the following fields:

Type | Provider type |
Url | Url address to the provider. Used for the HttpMessageProvider |
Username | Username for the service. |
Password | Password. The password field is only available when adding new or editing existing providers |
CallInterval | Call interval for the provider |
CustomLong | Custom numeric field for the provider |
CustomString | Custom text field for the provider |
CallTimeout | Timeout setting for the provider connection |
RouteLabel | Routing label for the provider |
DefaultProvider | Use the check-box to mark your provider as the default provider |
Start / Stop | Links to handle the provider status. Click on Start to start the provider Click on Stop to stop the provider |
Edit | Link to configure the provider. Click on Edit to change the provider settings |
Delete | Link to delete the provider. Click on Delete to remove the provider from the server |
