Installation requirements

The Tracking Server is built on .NET and runs MySQL and MS SQL databases. The Tracking Server can be installed on a dedicated server or subscribed to as a service.

Hardware requirements

Small system
You can run a small Tracking Server installation on a standard desktop computer.

Medium system
For a medium system with 100 vehicles, max 10 operators, and an update rate of 1 minute the following minimum setup is recommended.

• Disks: 75 GB SAS/SCSI RAID1
• CPU: Dual Core CPU
• Ram: 2 GB

Large system
For a large system with 1000 vehicles, max 20 operators, and an update rate of 1 minute in average.
(Or 10.000 vehicles, max 20 operators, and an update rate of 20 minutes in average)

• Disks: 300 GB SAS/SCSI RAID1
• CPU: 2 * Quad Core CPU:s
• Ram: 4 - 8 GB

Software requirements

The following software is needed to run a Tracking Server.

• Windows VISTA, Windows XP Professional SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP1/SP2 or Windows 2000 SP4
  (Windows Server 2003 x64 is recommended for large production systems)
• IIS 5.0 +
• .NET 2.0
• MySQL 4.1 + with ODBC 5.1.5 + and MDAC v2.6 +
  or
  MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005

Recommended and supported web browsers

The user interface for the Tracking Server is browser based. The recommended browsers for the Tracking Server are:

• Firefox 3.0 (or later)
• Google Chrome 5.0 (or later)
• Internet Explorer 7 (or later).

Note: The Tracking Server also supports other browsers such as Opera and Safari, but it is highly recommended that you use one of the recommended browsers when you do anything that requires SiteAdmin login, such as installing database-modules.
